• Mystic mail logfile parser/report generator?

From Michael Batts@21:4/156 to All on Sat May 9 11:43:26 2020
    Friends,

Anything like a parser or report generator for Mystic logfiles?
Specifically, I generate separate logfiles for mailin and mailout
exclusively and Id like to go one place to see a condensed version of the last 24 hours of activity, etc. Additionally, statistical reports such as those produced by Franks binkd-stats Perl script would be desirable. Perhaps exportable to a message?

At this point, if I cannot find one I may have to write one. Probably in MPL so its usable by all Mystic SysOps who have a desire to see stats neatly
    compiled in one place.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

I did write something awhile back that may be what your looking for. It's at https://github.com/DRPanther/MysticBBS-MultiTool

It will generate the following reports:
    Echomail
    Node
    Othernets
    Mailer

It also has a function that will move your log files into 'date' subdirectories, such as /mystic/logs/2020/05/08/.

It is open source, and provided with the source code (Pascal). It might give you what you're looking for, or with some modifications, could generate what you need. :)

The only reason I stopped working on it, is I changed CRBBS over to run
Husky, instead of Mystic handling those tasks.

Let me know if that helps you out. :)

I have/had asked the Mystic author if he would look at creating such reports and I believe it's on his TO-DO list. I recall sharing with him a bunch of ideas for what would be desirable to see in the stats reporting from Mystic from a HUB operations (heck even a node operational) point of view.

You will see some controls for logging is now enabled in the Mystic -CFG menu options but as yet nothing that I am aware of as a MUTIL function (or
similar) to take advantage of that logging output for the droids you are looking for :)

There were some efforts coded by folks in the network that did produce some custom reports based on prior mystic logs but I think the format of the
mystic output has changed such that these utils may be largely rendered useless.. not 100% sure.

At this point, if I cannot find one I may have to write one. Probably in MPL so its usable by all Mystic SysOps who have a desire to see stats neatly compiled in one place.

if you do I'm interested :)
