From suji@21:1/999 to All on Tue Aug 3 21:33:06 2021
After days of struggling, I seem to have figured out a way to get a few
fsxnet messages in to my BBS setup. What I find strange is that the messages seem to only be from the date I am polling. Is it possible to read messages from 6 months ago? Can someone enlighten me? Thanks in advance, Suji.

    Hi Suji,

Yes, once you get your own node number from Paul/Avon you'll be able to send a netmail message to Areafix and %RESCAN a bunch of older messages. I don't believe this is possible if you're using the /999 address though.

You'll want to make sure you send this message as a Netmail, so make sure you have a netmail base setup. (Message Base Type = Netmail)

Sorry to hijack the message, but you know what is the max amount of messages
    I can ask to rescan?

    Thanks

    Cheers!

That would mostly be limited to what your hub carries. The default rescan I believe is 250 messages (for Mystic), but you can override that. The exact format of the Areafix message differs depending whether your hub is running Mystic, hpt or Synchronet, just sent a %HELP command to Areafix and it'll let you know what to use.

I believe the maximum file size for a JAM message base is about 4GB, which is A LOT of messages.
