    or C:\mystic\mis poll killbusy -all

this is for use in a crash restart batch fill I run if a mystic instance were to lock up or flat out crash with out a clean shut down. Which do you all like better .

just a suggestion but take a look at MyGUI for Mystic under windows.
it has options to start at windows boot and to auto start mis server even after a none clean shutdown of mystic - keeping your BBS up unattended.
mygui is available from Agency BBS in mystic dev

    Hello Solaris!

On 26 Jan 2022, Solaris said the following...
    So shall I use
    DEL c:\mystic\semaphore\*.bsy
    or C:\mystic\mis poll killbusy -all

this is for use in a crash restart batch fill I run if a mystic instance were to lock up or flat out crash with out a clean shut down. Which do
    you all like better .

I'd vote for the "mis poll killbusy all", as it doesn't just remove busy files for the BBS parts (nodes) but also removes busy files for mail polls (in the echomail outbound directory hierarchy).

    Best regards

    You can now use

    mis poll killbusy app

Purging BSY files for Mystic applications...

    Removing: /bbs/mystic/semaphor/mis.bsy

    Removed 1 files

This removes those sorts of files so it's nicely targeted.

The whatsnew.txt has this to say

    [snip]

+ MIS POLL KILLBUSY now accepts "app" to delete only Mystic application
busy files, or "echo" to delete only Echomail busy files, or all to delete
all. When nothing is supplied it continues to default to Echomail.

    [snip]

    Hope that helps :)

I prefer mis poll killbusy -all.

I still have SOME .bsy issues - mostly mutil.bsy or poll.bsy files that hold up my FTN msgs... it is a lot better than some of the a47 builds, but I do still hit spots when my MetroNet developer logs in and tells me to poll NOW. :P

Theres still some .bsy issues - and I've had the same questions that you pose... I prefer to use the mis command, because it is Mystic-native... but what do I know? I'm just some ding dong with a silly BBS.
