Some stations have started censoring that now in Australia, which is a drag (sorry, pun not intended). It is one of our songs after all.

One of Australia's songs? It's a Dire Straits song (they're from the UK).

    I want my MTV :)

Speaking of Australian bands, have you heard of one called 1927?

I came across them a few weeks back, 80's or 90's band, found a track I quite liked called 'That's when I think of you' - it could be quite good for love song formats.

I was at Home Depot here in the US the other day getting some paint. As I was walking off, the old man that helped me stopped me -- "Wait, did I tell you about my friend who is a farmer?" *dad joke here ending with "...money for nothing, and the chicks for free". :D Made my day haha

    I haven't.
I know of only a few Australian bands, and they're from the 80s & 90s (I don't listen to a whole lot of new music these days). Off the top of my head, I can think of Men At Work, INXS, Icehouse, and Midnight Oil.

Yup, that was popular in the 80's. I think it was their only big one too IIRC...

1927 only lasted a few albums if I recall right... ISH, don't remember what else.

Midnight Oil was good right up until Red Sails in the Sunset, ok as far as
Blue Sky Mining and then became rubbish. Wedding Cake Island! :P

We had a raft of bands back then... Cold Chisel, The Angels, going back a
bit, Masters Apprentices, Skyhooks, The Sunnyboys... we had the massive pub rock scene going on. Unfortunately it all died when they bought out pokies here.. over a 1-2 year period every venue turned into a House of Mammon, gambling den.

Rose Tattoo even flew under the radar for a lot of locals too. But they put out some good stuff, Rock n' Roll Outlaw, Bad boy for love, and the immortal "Stuck on you" who could pass up the lines.... "I had a fish named sam, he lived in a bowl, I heated up the water so he wouldn't get cold, now he's gone now he's gone".

yea... and like over here when the pokies came around even though technically gambling is illegal outside of the seminole tribe lands (the people who own the hard rock casinos etc), i know someone that runs a small place out in the middle of nowhere and it's amazing how many people come in with a couple hundred bucks... win 800 and then go home broke.

Rose Tattoo even flew under the radar for a lot of locals too. But they put out some good stuff, Rock n' Roll Outlaw, Bad

yeasame with the uk stuff.... amazing how many people are listening to stuff that we listened to "new" and thinking it's a recent song lol
