• Amiga Emulation

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre with a 250 GB HDD. Tried a stripped down version of Windows 7/XP to run WinUAE. Doesn't work very well. Want to run Coffin OS r60 under an emulator on this ThinkCentre. Other than FS-UAE...are there other Amiga emulators which will run on an x86 system under Linux/BSD? Want to boot right to the workbench to make it run like an actual Amiga.

Any other suggestions would be thankful and make me happy if there are steps to make this happen. If you have come across anyway to run Coffin OS on an A500 Mini...would be interested in that as well.

    Hi Acmebbs,

Under linux FS-UAE is pretty much it.

steps to make this happen. If you have come across anyway to run
Coffin OS on an A500 Mini...would be interested in that as well.

Have you heard of "Amilator"? It runs linux from a USB memory stick and
boot's right into the Emulator. I've been updating it of late (I'm
not the original creator) and you can grab the latest version from here:

    https://amiga.vk3heg.net

If you can wait untill the weekend, I'll be releasing something that
totally replaces Amilator. Just finishing up on the documentation, and
fixing any issues the beta tester's have reported.

What I did was remake Pimiga. So if you have a raspberry pi you can pull appart his project and then us it in any of the UAE's actually really easy to set it up as to boot. I don't make mine setup to boot right in to it because I added it to the rest of my emulation station options. What are the specs of the machine and I might be able to help we can also chat on discord if you want to pick my brain a little.

Did this with the 1.5 version of Pimiga. Thought about doing this...along with using Coffin v60 & Pimiga 2. Know I want to be lazy...but either of these are fantastic for someone like myself who have some old hardware (like this mini-PC they use in retail operations).

Is the 2.0 version of Pimiga UAE files in the same place as 1.5?

Have been looking at this. Right now...am looking at RetroPie on the x86.

I have not heard of this...but you better believe I will be keeping an eye on it. Am impressed that this is avalable. It's exactly what I've looking for on the x86 side of things...with DietPi being useful on the RPi side of things.

Thank you so much for letting me know about this!

I have not worked with the newest version, however I do know that it would take way too much work to remake using something different. So I would say its a safe bet he didn't remake it.

I'd be interested in learning more about Amiga emulation too... I
generally prefer the real thing, but haven't acquired an Amiga yet.
Figured it might be good to "try before you buy" so to speak.

I as well...but the prices are crazy. Still kick myself that I hadn't bought one 20 years ago for a fraction of what they are going for today.

Something I would suggest is getting a copy of Coffin r60. Even Pimiga 2 is a decent choice. Coffin is available for free here: https://getcoffin.net/...while Pimiga is easier to find.

Problem with Coffin is many of the links of stores which sell it...while the author has some words for those who sell it.
