• Terminal Entry Movie

Around about 1986/87 a real cheesy B-Movie that claimed it 'took off where Wargames left off', called Terminal Entry. I saw about 5 minutes of it when I was a kid then my mom made me switch it off because it had boobies in it or something ;)

Anyway, I just found it on YouTube:

Anyone seen this almost forgotten piece of mega 80s overload ?

    Never heard of it.

That's funny. What's funnier is that the woman steps out of the
shower with full make-up on. That's as far as I got, to check
out the video quality before I moved it to a flash drive.

Anyway, I just found it on YouTube:

That one refuses to load in NA, but I found another one. The
one I found has a short preview of Dixie Lanes

Might be fun to discuss it amongst us!

I started watching Michells vs The Machines from someone's
recommendation in the echos here. I'm really enjoying that
one. It's not something I would normally watch, but the
animation is amazing. The humour (dialog and visual cues) are
    well conceived.

I collect these -- movies about computers. Terminal Entry is a real stinker. Terminal Entry is almost one of those movies that worked towards an 80s
cheese aesthetic; like they were trying to make the movie they made, rather than tried to make something good and failed.

One movie in my collection that people rarely talk about is the
Commodore-heavy Hide and Seek, a Canadian made-for-TV movie loosely based on the novel The Adolescence of P-1. Early in the movie, the protagonist orders
    a pizza via modem.

There are also some great shots of a nuclear power plant being run by
Commodore 64s. In fact, aside from a portable TTY (like, a portable paper
TTY one of the characters uses to dial in from a diner!), every computer in
the movie is a Commodore of some sort.

There's also a PET network at school through which the AI speaks to the protagonist.

Finished the film last night. It was laborious to watch. The
best parts are [1] the opening scenes with the lady from the
shower, and [2] about the last 30 minutes of the film where the
kids suddenly realize they are affecting realworld events. But
the whole "rescue" is a silly mess.

But the dialog is overly bad, acting is worse. It wastes too
much time with the romance angles amongst the teens. The
romance life of the rambo-wannabie hero and his lady reporter
    friend adds nothing.

How the real-world Terminal Entry interface even shows up on a
    gaming network is unexplained.

I was watching the credits and didn't see any credit for "Lady
Electric" (Barbara Edwards) ..the lady from the shower.

Nevertheless, it was an interesting trip to the past.

Sounds like you all should watch "Johnny Mnemonic", if you haven't. All of
the Dystopian Megacorporations and mirrored sunglasses you could want set in
a future world of 2021. And Keanu Reeves. And Dina Meyer.

Pluto TV has it for free.

Bring popcorn, and turn your pager off.

One of my favorites from back in the day. This one, IMO, is actually worthwhile and GOOD to watch. +1 for Johnny Mneumonic.

    I don't think I've ever heard of that one. 1994-1996 was a
period when I got fed up with cable TV, and disconnected
everything. Then it was jut the occassional VHS rental.

But I do remember seeing Source Code (2011) and rather enjoying
    that one.

Oh yeah. The year 2021... We will never be alive then... oh wait....

I don't remember watchign anything great from Bronson, but I haven watched anything awful from him.

I am kind of a Bronson fan. He was a tough guy IRL. The man made himself.

It takes a special kind of actor to have the expresive capabilities of a brick and still make for interesting characters. Buster Keaton (from the 20s) was another one who could do. Als this bald guy, who I think is called Steve Austin.

He was, we don't often see people like Bronson anymore.

I like the Death Wish series also, they were good. At least they started out good, maybe they should have stopped at Death Wish 2.

I never watched or even knew of Mr. Majestyk until my sister suggested it for a movie night.

That movie was quite fine. I loved the Fonda vs Bronson duel. So cool electric guitars for a Western. The only issue that tweaks me from that film is that the initial scene takes 15 minutes to kick in.
