Anyone remember The Groundstar Conspiracy, 1972?

To be honest, I didn't. I just ended up finding this when I was
looking for other George Peppard material - specifically the Tv
    series Banacek, but I digress.

TGC isn't half bad. There is big reveal just before this clip
(the clip doesn't spoil anything) but it's an interesting scene
considering that this was imagined in 1972 and privacy is quite
    paramount 20-30 years later.

Yes. This one sticks in my mind because
    1. It was the first movie shown by the brand new theater near my childhood home.
    2. It was the first movie that I walked out on. I really just wasn't in to those movies at the time and Dad took me.

    TGC isn't half bad.

It's not a stinker, but it's certainly not the best either.
It's worth a watch if you have nothing better to do on a rainy Sunday.

... I'd love to, but the President said he might drop in.

It has quite a few long drawn-out parts. Even the opening
scene (BEFORE the title even shows up) with the female lead
visiting her "cottage" is unnecessarily too long.

It has a twist at the end that I did not see coming.

It was filmed Canada at the campus of the Simon Fraser Univ.
Probably for it's futuristic setting for the imagined
    "military" facility.
