Howdy all - just joined up on Metronet - and wanted to give some background.
I consider myself a "new sysop" as I've been out of the game for 25 years. It's good to be back and great to see the BBS movement going like it is. I was aware of it for the last few years, but didn't realize how prevalant it is now. It is big - and I love it. I was a C64 co-sysop running Hal's BBS, and then ran my own designed BBS for a few years run off a C128. I'm in love with those computers even though I don't have one anymore other than emulation.

Today I'm running Enigma on a linux server that virtualized in some cloud - what a path computers have traveled.

Anyhoo - just wanted to shout out to Metroland and say Hi. Drop me a line and keep the path foward for the real and valuable type of social networking - BBS!

Mine are in storage somewhere. Either here or in a friends basment.
I should probably attempt to find them at some point. I wrote my
own BBS software with the help of a retired school teacher who
got me going in the right direction for talking to the modem.

    Welcome back.
