If you’ve dabbled in emulation as of late you’ll no doubt be aware that
the Android operating system has provided a new lease of life for countless consoles and computers. While just about every popular system of yesteryear
is somewhat playable on most smartphones and gaming tablets, there’s one platform which has been massively neglected until now… the Atari Jaguar.

While it might not be the most popular console of its time, the Atari Jaguar
is an interesting one with its bold promises and unusual selection of games. Titles such as Alien Vs Predator and Super Burnout showcase its strengths, however, there are some really woeful releases such as Club Drive which often subject the console to ridicule. Nevertheless it’s yet another part of our gaming past which needs to be preserved for future generations to come.

IrataJaguar is the newest arrival to Google Play, an emulator by MaxAkaAltmer which aims to provide the Android ecosystem with the most compatible Atari Jaguar emulation around. Unlike RetroArch’s buggy and somewhat ignored VirtualJaguar core, IrataJaguar is based on the PhoenixEmuProject and supposedly offers 95% compatibility with the console’s library.

Before you get too excited though, it’s worth noting that intensive games - like the aforementioned Alien Vs Predator - require incredibly powerful
Android devices to run, albeit at a rather slow framerate. Whilst we await further improvements to the emulator’s performance, there are plenty of
other games which run smooth enough such as Atari Karts, Zool 2, Power Drive, Raiden and Rayman.

The only Jaguar game you need to emulate is Tempest 2000.

I'd like to just have the soundtrack from that game. One of the best ever
    done at the time.

I have it available for download (in the original 4-track MOD format) from
Deep Space '94. You'll need a module player like Open Cubic Player or XMPlay
(I think I have both of those available for download as well. Maybe?)

Kewl, I'll grab it at some point.

And I have yet to encounter an audio or video format the VLC can't handle. :)
