Something I always wanted to do was to emulate the C64 and run CNet64 v12 on it. Has anyone been able to get this done? Any tips on this? I dabbled in this a few years back. I guess I need to set it all up again and start tinkering with it to see if I can get this to work.

I believe there are a few guys running Image on Vice, Which as you already
know is the upgrade of 12.0. Ryan Sherwood from Facebook I believe knows the ins and outs of doing it. He is supposed to get me a doc writeup of hooking
up Image via Vice. He is on Facebook there is also an Image group there with
a bunch of people.. I was going to set up an Image via Vice after I finished setting up Mystic on the PC side, then Excelsior! on an Amiga Emulator, but Larry Hedman from Florida has both my old Image Boards 1.2 and 2.0 (I was
doing the programming on finishing it up back in 96) online and running. So I am probably going to skip the Image setup. Check in the Image group on
Facebook they will hook you up..

Definitely! I am still up in the air about not doing it, I know once I have both of my other BBS' setup and running I am going to put on VICE and try to help out with the programming of IMAGE 2.0. I had so much invested into it
back in 96 and lost all of the work I did because my LTK finally bit the
dust.. I will definitely let you know what I get...

I did get some stuff as I have started my trek this week to getting Image 2.0 running in Vice.. Right now it is slow going, i got the software running accepting sign on's but I am using 2 1581 disks, I want to use either ide64
or FD4000's I have a blank fd4000 image right now but need to get ahold of
the CMD copy programs which I will do this week.. I will let you know how I make out, once I get Image copied to the FD4000 disk and get it configured
then it is only a matter of getting it Telnetable. I just have a feeling it's not going to be free to get it working, but I will cross that bridge when i
get there.. I'll keep you's up to date...

I got the FD4000 disks working in Vice (Yes I know it is simple, but for this old goat nothing is simple) copying over all of the Image files to 1 FD4000 disk right now. I will config up the BBS and see how it runs on the one disk. I
am waiting for a response from a friend on whether or not the tcpser issue affects Linux, if it does not I am going to install Linux on my CBM Vice computer and go that route and then if all goes according to planned the BBS would be up and running this weekend. If Linux is not the answer then I don't know when it would be online. I know there are a lot of CNet fans, but if anyone wants to get involved in the programming of teh Image 2.0 i can get you the files and if Linux is the answer for the Telnet issues (This affects CNet also) then I will write up a doc file to get started. New Programmers are always welcome. :)

I dunno naught about Linux. Have you considered Fame? Or how anout Zeus? Or Excelsior or even Ami-Express? These are all fine Amiga BBS's.
If you wanna see a couple in action,CIA BBS [Ciabbs.dynu.net:6400] is running Zeus and Sanctuary BBS [Sanctuary.zapto.org:1541] is on Ami-Express. I know another one runs on Fame, but I don't remember at the moment.
I've been toying around with the idea of getting another BBS online. Amiga specific, but not necessarily CNet. I'm hoping to gain further ARexx instruction this way, as a pfile that works fine on CNet won't run on Excelsior
without tweaking it first. I wanna learn why something is tweaked this way and
why ARexx pfiles aren't compatible across all Amiga boards.
I've looked at buying ARexx books, but eBay is ridiculous.

Actually, My CNet Amiga board is the only Amiga board I will be running. I am talking about a C64 board. I am working on putting up a Image BBS v2.0, back
in the mid 90's I was on the programming team of finishing the software. My
Lt Kernal Hard drive took a dump so I gave it up and also BBS'n Since about 2014 when I sent my backups to a guy in Florida who I used to run a SysOp support group with he has taken the lead and gotten it stable again and has been working on it. I am going back to help finish it again. I am currently setting it up on WinVice thus the talk of the CMD FD4000 drives, which I
might add work great with the Emulator thus allowing me not to have a HD
since I have 12 Megs of storage space with 4 FD4000 emulated drives. Only 8 megs less then my first Lt Kernal. A far cry from today's standards where my Mystic and SynchroNet boards have over 6TB 's of storage shared between
them.. Anyways... That is where I am..

Ah, a C=64 board. Gotcha. :-) Did you see that virtually every game for the C=64 is now available on the Internet Archive? There is even an emulator, so I can go play Blue Max! Good luck with the new BBS!

Thanks brother... Everything for the C64 is available now.. Everyone who ever wrote for the 64 is releasing their stuff to the PD.. It's a good thing... :)

Just a quick followup to Spitfire, not sure what K-Guide is doing with the DS2,
but if he is just getting it stable and getting it 19.2 capable, then all you need to do on your side is get ahold of the FD4000 .bin file so you can use those disks, also get ahold of the Jiffydos.bin so the disk access is quicker, and last but not least if you want some speed install the CMD SuperCPU .bin file also.. With all of that it will be no where near as quick as your Amiga system, but it will hold it's own.. I am currently running all of that except the Swiftlink setup as I am only at 2400 baud right now on my Image, speed wise
other then the slow disk access times, the board is really quick with the SCPU
setup installed and jiffydos. I was going to try to hookup the REU setup to speed it up even more by storing the PFiles in RAM but they are not compatible with each other (SCPU and REU). If you need any of the files let me know I can put something together for you.. Once I get back into the groove and finish a project I am in the planning stages of for the Image BBS, I will try to find the FutureNet Mods which were used to network CNet and Image boards, and we can
then network everyone.. I'll let you know...

Now that (cross my fingers) Necromaster has my networks flowing again, I can focus on that other tower and Vice. I am itching on getting RoF2 up and running.

I am starting to really dig Vice.. I have it now autopopulating the disks
along with booting tcpser then all I need to boot my BBS is hit CTRL ESC and
it automatically boots up. I have both the Image 1.2 and 2.0 running on the same computer..
