If you're like me you're both an audio-based learner and wanting to know *everything* about the Sp00k scene. I include the HOPE conference audio in that. Well I've really been keeping a close eye on the FIIO X5's. I don't really like getting small trinkets for Christmas so what I do is get my whole family to pitch in for one expensive item. I lost my old FIIO X5 Generation
2, which can old 256 G of space, and now I've upgraded to the FIIO X5 Generation 3, which holds 512 G (256G x 2). So I'm putting a *lot* of HOPE Conference audio on the gadget, and with a half terabyte of data I won't be running out of space any time soon. Unlike the previous version of the device this new 3Gen runs on Android, so I can stream and download audio from Scribd.com. Audible doesn't seem to run but if I really wanted Audible content I could always download it to my computer, rip the DRM and copy it in MP3 to the player. So, picture this: *every* single HOPE conference talk on a single device in high-qualty MP3 with plenty of room to spare. It can also play FLAC files, which can be over 192 kHz x 24-bit. I'm going to be making a podcast (eventually) and the player is going to be used as an audio reference device to let me hear how I sound speaking.

What's the point of this? Well, just to share a product review of one of the coolest presents I've ever had that can play all the hacking related
conference audio. Check it out. I bought it just after Christmas (from gift cards) for $300 CAD (originally $450 CAD). I'd recommend it well above video games, or whatever that get old quick. This is *not* getting old. Pick one up, they allow you to listen while on the way to work or school and are constructed out of high-end materials.
