What's up with all you homosapiens?

    Anything interesting going on?

For me, I'm back on the bicycle. Put in 33 miles over the last two rides! Getting back in the groove :)

Shutting down my graphics printing business and selling off the equipment. Trying to sell my 1973 Ford Gran Torino. http://orbitbbs.com/grantorino

Got too much STUFF around the house...trying to get up a yard sale soon.

Gonna be another hot one today with a 50/50 chance of Tstorms.
Will be working in the graphics shop today. I've got to wrap up a couple of orders before shutting it all down.

Yep...same here. Will be pulling some overtime at the police dept tonight though. Got a "click it or ticket" traffic checkpoint for a few hours tonight.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? (ie: retiring, or just being
a print based business you can no longer pay the bills?)

I have some good stories, but they are only funny to other Taxi
drivers or drunk people. Plus I tell them much beter in person when
    I can act. hahaha.

Here in Canada they would tax me to death on it. ;)

It's a sublimation printing business. I have a fulltime job so my bills
get paid...this was a side thing I wanted to do.

I've heard some pretty good one's myself over the last 13 yrs of working with the police. I'm a dispatcher so I get the calls then farm them out to the
    guys on the street.

    Ahh...too bad. It's a nice car!

Gotcha. I've had various business over the years and have closed for
one reason or another. Sometimes I made money, sometimes I lost money.
All in all I've always been able to eat which I suppose is all that
    matters!

We have a number of retired officers working for us, so I've heard
some good ones from that area as well.

This is the second incarnation of my sublimation business. In the first one, which was called "Image Graphics, Inc.", it was alive and well in the 1990's and did very well. We finally closed up in 2001 after business fell off. The sublimation technology had gotten cheaper and more widespread and that hurt us.

Image Graphics had customers ranging from the White House (yes, THE White House), all branches of the military, Fortune 500 companies and major colleges as well as the on-the-street individual. It was great and a lot of fun too.

Even then, I had a fulltime job. My wife ran the business and I helped her with it.

This latest effort, which I called "Green Monkey Graphics", did well the first year. Several factors contributed to my decision to close up. Again, I have enjoyed and it and do not reget it at all.
